Here is our first foal of 2008!  Ellie helped us out in naming her. :)

This filly was not a planned one, as her dam is our daughter Ellie's riding horse and 23 years old!  Cay backed up to the fence last march and got herself bred by our stallion Kid Lena.  We didn't think she would catch and didn't think of it again until February when she started bagging up!  But what a filly this is.

Flicka has shedded out to a very dark bay, brown now.

Flicka 2 months old, she has a beautiful hip and is going to be quite stocky.

Flicka is an exceptional filly, and is already showing her mom's great bone structure, and with Kid as her sire, she may not have papers, but she's gonna be a great one.  Her bloodlines include Smart Little Lena, Dry Doc, Peppy San, Sonny Dee Bar, and more.  She is already showing tons of speed and agility, she can stop and turn on a dime and out run mom.  She is an excellent barrel horse or working cow horse prospect.

This filly has beautiful conformation, a nice strong hip and big bones, and a pretty head to go with it all.

Here are a few pictures of Cay and Flicka at 2 days old.  She loves her warm blanket and loves to run out in the snow.  She also loves her nice warm stall.
