Black
(Blue Roan) Tovero APHA Filly
Hattie is a
special filly, as she was one I had to bottle feed, and we've bonded
quite well, so she will be staying here at the ranch with us.
CV Dashin Blue
Lena, "Hattie" is
a classic example of the foals our mare Parti throws. She is
beautiful, correct, with an excellent easy to work with disposition. We
also got the rare chance of a
black (out of a chestnut and a bay), although she is mostly white, and
with a beautiful blue eye with black eyeliner. She is a big stocky
filly with nice bone and a gorgeous hip and chest, and is very friendly,
she loves people and wants attention.
January 11,
2010. Hattie is starting to fill in nicely and should mature
around 15.2hh.

July 2008, out
in the pasture.

Hattie is an
easy going filly and fun to work with. I look forward to training
and riding this gal, as well as the babies she'll have in the future for
us.

Carey and Hattie, great buddies, opposites attract.

This filly
sure had a rough start, mom was in labour all day, if not longer when we
decided to go in and see what was wrong. She was trying to come
out legs and head down! We went in and turned her and pulled her
out, but it was very stressful on mom, she lost alot of blood and her
placenta would not come out on its own, they had to stay at the vets for
3 days. Her mom, Parti, ended up loosing the sight in her right
eye due to the trauma of this foaling, but she has adjusted well and is still a
wonderful mom, and one of our favourite mares.

Hattie 1 week
old and filling in very nicely, she's going to be an exceptional filly.

We have
decided to call this little gal Hattie, I love the name, plus it is very
suiting since she is the medicine hat type paint with the "hat" on her
head. Here I am bottle feeding her at 4 days old. We bottle
fed Hattie a few times a day so she didn't drain mom completely, since
she was still trying to heal.
Here are some
pictures we took while at the vets when she was 1 day old:

about 18 hours
old.

Hattie decided to
lay down and sleep in the sun, so I thought I would join her.
Hattie is to stay here at Colour V Ranch. I will be
training her for barrels and using her as my next main riding horse.
With her bloodlines (Dash For Cash, Doc O'Lena, Depth Charge, Three
Bars, Poco Tivio, Hollywood Gold, and more) she will be an excellent
mare. She will also later be bred to our studs. Another neat thing about Hattie is she was
born on the day my grandma died (back in 1992) so she has become even
more special to us.
